Install FIXXR like you mean it.

Verify the download, install cleanly, run the first scan, and learn what “Verified” actually means.

Maxx

1) Verify the download

Confirm SHA256 matches the site.

After you download the DMG, run this in Terminal and compare with the hash on the download page.

shasum -a 256 FIXXR-*.dmg

2) Install cleanly

Drag FIXXR to Applications.

Then open it once. FIXXR runs as a menu bar app, so look in the menu bar for Maxx.

3) First scan

Run a scan and let it finish.

The first scan creates your baseline. After that, FIXXR can tell what changed and what needs attention.

What “Verified” means

Verified is evidence, not vibes.

Verified means FIXXR has local provenance evidence for the app’s update path, like checksum and team identity continuity.

Updates

FIXXR updates itself.

Use the menu bar icon: right-click → “Check for Updates…”. For manual installs, use the latest DMG on the site.

Troubleshooting

If something feels off, open Diagnostics.

Diagnostics is the “machine truth” view. It shows the scan engine, appcast state, and provenance basics.
